Episode 4: The Body Knows First: Rebuilding Self-Trust from the Inside Out

Let me ask you something:

Do you trust yourself?
I don’t mean in the quiet moments when it’s easy to feel aligned.
I mean when your heart is racing, your body is tight, and the noise in your head says, “Don’t rock the boat. Don’t make a scene. Don’t say no.”

That’s where today’s episode begins—at the intersection of conditioning and clarity. Because the truth is, your body is your most trustworthy guide, and if you don’t feel like you can trust it right now, it’s not because you’re broken.

It’s because you were taught not to.

🚫 Conditioned to Override

From a young age, we were trained to gaslight our own instincts.

  • Crying? Too sensitive.

  • Angry? Calm down.

  • Tired? Push through.

  • Excited? Be realistic.

We were taught to look outside of ourselves for permission, for validation, for truth. And that led many of us—myself included—to abandon our body’s signals in favor of being liked, needed, accepted.

But here's what I know now:

Your body isn’t the problem. It’s the portal.
It’s the access point to your truth. And the longer we ignore it, the louder it gets.

🌀 Self-Trust Is Not a Mantra—It’s a Relationship

We rebuild trust with our bodies the same way we rebuild trust with a friend:

  • Show up consistently

  • Listen deeply

  • Repair when it’s broken

If you’ve been overriding your yes and no for years, your body’s going to be cautious. But every moment is a chance to reconnect.

Ask yourself today:

  • When did my body give me a signal I ignored?

  • What small signal can I honor right now?

✋ Try This: The Inner Yes / Inner No Drop-In

Unless you’re driving (you know the drill), try this with me:

  1. Place one hand on your heart, the other on your lower belly.

  2. Say, “Show me a full body YES.”

    • Feel into your chest, shoulders, breath. Any expansion?

  3. Say, “Show me a full body NO.”

    • Feel for tension, tightness, a pulling back.

Your body is always talking. You don’t have to figure it out—you just have to feel it out.

🧠 When I Forgot… and What My Body Taught Me

Let me tell you about the months I spent feeling anxious—and assuming it was just financial stress. In reality, I was out of alignment with my business. I had started building something that looked good on paper (hello “scaling culture”), but felt off in my soul.

And my body? She knew first.

The moment I paused, listened, and let myself pivot into a more authentic path (hybrid coaching, deep 1:1 soul work, my own lane as a Contrarian Soul Guide)—my anxiety lifted. The spark came back. The flow returned.

We’re not here to follow the herd. We’re here to channel truth.

🗝️ This Week’s Invitation

✅ Pause before you ask anyone else for advice.
✅ Ask your body: “What do you know?”
✅ Practice the yes/no drop-in.

And remember, you’re not broken, confused, or behind.
You’re reconnecting. You’re rebuilding the bridge to the wisest part of you.

Let it be messy. Let it be nonlinear. Just keep coming home.
